Lorimore pledges to support Prop. 13 and the Right to Vote on Taxes Act

Riverside County, CA (April 28, 2022) – Mayor Clint Lorimore has signed the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association’s Taxpayer Protection Pledge. Candidates for partisan and nonpartisan offices across California can sign the voluntary pledge to stand up for taxpayers, if elected. The pledge affirms that a candidate supports Proposition 13, passed by voters in 1978, and believes Proposition 13 is fair for homeowners. The pledge also affirms the candidate believes taxpayers have a right to vote on all tax increases, supports California’s system of citizen access to the ballot initiative process, and supports the Right to Vote on Taxes Act, passed by voters in 1996.

“California is facing an affordability crisis,” said Lorimore. “Prices are skyrocketing for everything from gas and groceries to homes and utilities. I proudly signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge because I am committed to advocating for taxpayers and fighting to make California more affordable. We don’t need new or higher taxes and fees, politicians need to accept that our state has become unaffordable and start  implementing solutions that will unleash our economic potential. The best way to lower prices is by cutting taxes and fees and reducing regulations that stifle businesses and create less supply and higher demand for goods and services. As our next State Assemblymember, I will be a strong advocate for taxpayers and fight for common sense solutions to make California more affordable.”

A small business owner, Clint Lorimore was elected to the Eastvale City Council in 2014 and currently serves as Mayor. At City Hall, Lorimore has worked diligently to improve public safety, reduce homelessness, attract high-paying jobs, and fight for local control. Lorimore has a proven record of delivering results for his city and in 2021, Eastvale was ranked as the second safest city in Riverside County.

Clint Lorimore was raised in Riverside County where he graduated from local public schools. Clint earned his bachelor’s degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and went on to earn his master’s degree from Claremont Graduate University. Clint has been active in grassroots Republican organizations for over 20 years. He was elected to serve on the Riverside County Republican Party Central Committee in 2016 and he currently serves as Treasurer for the Riverside County Republican Party. Clint has been a proud homeowner in Riverside County since 2004.
